HudsonTrident (UK) Ltd., has been selected as a "Security Award" finalist for the Lloyd's List Awards 2005, to be presented on Feb. 24, 2005, in London at The Banqueting House.

HudsonTrident is among four finalists chosen from a field of more than 200 nominations for this highly esteemed maritime award. Lloyd's List introduced the Security Award to pay tribute to a company, product or organization that has made a significant and tangible contribution to improving the security of shipping.

Other categories in the Lloyd's List Awards 2005 include: Shipping Company of the Year, Ship of the Year, The Innovation Award, Shipbroker of the Year, P&I/Insurance Services Award, Ship Financier of the Year, The Training Award and Shipping Lawyer of the Year.

"We are highly honored to have been first nominated and then short-listed for this distinguished award," said Per W. Christensen, president of Hudson Marine Management Services. "And it's most rewarding to be recognized for the maritime security work we have done since the tragic events of Sept. 11, 2001," he said.

HudsonTrident's web-based threat assessment tool ThreatLogix, which the company introduced in 2004, has proved to be of significant value to the shipping industry. ThreatLogix enables the ship owner or CSO to download current, independent and secure threat assessments through the Internet for every port and routing. Threat assessments are generated based on data provided by the user, such as crew nationalities, cargo definition and ports of call - even seas transited by the ship on any given route.

In addition to developing risk assessment tools, HudsonTrident offers a full range of security resources for ships, ports and facilities. The company's core services include assisting ship owners, port authorities and facility operators in meeting ISPS Code requirements: The HudsonTrident team has completed hundreds of port, marine terminal and ship security assessments around the world per ISPS Code requirements.

HudsonTrident maintains close liaison with flag states and contracting governments worldwide with an emphasis on conducting audits and gap analyses on current ship and port security plans.

HudsonTrident has developed a broad-based list of clientele that includes ports, marine terminals and facilities, vessel owners, insurers and government agencies.
